Mantis Repair
During a backpacking trip, a friend broke my beloved Mantis chair. They are no longer being manufactured, and the manufacturer didn't respond to my request for replacement parts.
So, I made my own part. The trickiest bit was figuring out the thread size, which turned out to be M12 x 1.25 pitch (metric fine).
I don't have a lathe, so this replacement part was made on my mill using the rotary table. It's 6061 aluminum, but if it fails again, I'll remake it out of 7075.
