Word Clock
This clock tells the time in five minute increments. The clock is in French - "Il est troi et demi" translates to "It is three thirty." The clock's face is a grid of 3d printed letters with paper diffusers. The project uses by an Atmega328P (effectively a hand-wired Arduino) with an RTC module. To drive power to the LED grid, I used a Darlington array.
This was a very early 3d printing project before I had my Rostock dialed in - you can see very questionable first layers on the back of the clock, and some over extrusion on the front. That said, it runs great and has a lot of nostalgia for me, so I'm not going to upgrade it.
There are a few easter eggs hidden in the clock. For example, at a random time in the morning, it displays "Il est cafe heures" - crudely, "It's coffee time."
